Lip Augmentation & Enhancements

Fuller lips are becoming increasingly popular throughout society, however, the majority of patients desire bigger lips, with the hopes of maintaining naturalism.

What is Lip Augmentation?

Lip augmentation is primarily designed to restore shape, volume and projection to the lip border and body. The main injection points in lip augmentation are the vermilion border, oral commissures, cupids bow and philtrum.

At Taylor Made Aesthetics multiple techniques and dermal fillers can be used to create bespoke treatments that meet each individual’s needs. The clinical outcomes of lip augmentation are defined by the patient’s unique anatomy, injection technique and volume and type of dermal filler used. It is important to remember when considering lip augmentation to be involved in your care and treatment plan to achieve an optimal result.

How long does a lip augmentation or lip filler treatment take?

The length of a lip filler treatment can vary depending on a few factors, such as the amount of filler being used. Lip filler treatments generally take up to 30 minutes and you can resume your normal daily activities following the procedure.

During the treatment, the treatment area is cleaned and then small amounts of filler is injected into the lips using a fine needle or cannula. The lips may also be massaged to ensure the filler is evenly distributed. The entire process typically takes between 30 – 60 minutes, and patients can usually return to their daily activities immediately afterward.

It’s important to note that while the treatment itself may be quick, there may be some downtime involved as the lips may be swollen or bruised for a few days afterward. Patients should also schedule a follow-up appointment to ensure the desired results are achieved.
